Usher is leaking details about his Super Bowl halftime show at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, February 11. More than 100M people are projected to view the R&B superstar’s 13-minute performance, which will be produced by the NFL, Apple Music, and Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation.
The eight-time Grammy Award winner says he plans to use his 2011 Super Bowl appearance as a guide. That’s when he guested during the Black Eyed Peas’ set by descending from the Cowboys Stadium ceiling to perform his hit, “OMG.”
Though confirmations are lacking, Jermaine Dupri, Ludacris, and Lil Jon are all hotly tipped to perform in Usher’s set.
Usher recently wrapped his second hometown residency, which he began in July 2022 at the Park MGM’s Dolby Live. His first began in 2021 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Believe it or not, seats are still available for the big game, but the cheapest will cost you $11K.
Xtina Keep X-ing Shows
Christina Aguilera has canceled a third show in her new residency at the Venetian. Friday, February 2 is now off her schedule after she already canceled her January 5 and 6 shows only a week after opening at the Venetian’s new Voltaire venue over New Year’s weekend.
Aguilera, 43, blamed “New Year flu” for her first cancelations. No word on the reason for her latest.
Although the shows are officially referred to as “rescheduled” or “postponed,” the reality is that, for most fans, they are cancelations. That’s because, unlike when an act plays their hometown, fans may not be able to spend a second $2,000 on plane tickets and a hotel room to see their idol in Vegas.
Or they may have a scheduling conflict. Or they may no longer want to go after wasting their money on a Vegas trip the first time.
Refunds are being offered via VoltaireLV.com.
Second Eye Blind
Third Eye Blind is slated to become the second act to play the Fontainebleau’s BleauLive Theater on June 22. Tickets, $69-$299, are on sale here. The venue was broken in by Post Malone during the Fontainebleau’s sold-out New Year’s Eve weekend.
Colombian singer-songwriter Maluma will perform a concert exclusively for SiriusXM and Pandora on February 8 at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. The concert is open to SiriusXM and Pandora subscribers only. Those who wish to attend should RSVP here.
