Pamela Belote set a new record for the World Series of Poker Circuit with her victory in the Ladies Event on Sunday.
Belote previously held seven WSOPC rings and the women’s joint record for most rings along with La Sengphet. With her win on Sunday, Belote now stands alone with eight rings, more than any other female player.
Belote is a regular on the WSOP Circuit, even final tabling two other events at the WSOP Circuit Choctaw Durant just last week alone.

Chasing Victory
Belote’s two near misses in the previous week must have sharpened the sweetness of the win.
A couple of days before, Belote had been pipped at the post in the $600 Escalating Bounty event. Sims White had flopped two pair to crack Belote’s aces on the final hand of the tourney. Two days before that, Belote had taken fifth in the $400 Monster Stack.
Having come so close so recently, Belote was thrilled by her victory in the Ladies Event.
“I literally travel everywhere trying to accomplish this,” she told the WSOP. Later adding, “I told myself that I would slow down if I won this one, and I probably will slow down somewhat. But I’m probably going to be at Tunica in a couple of weeks.”

Heads up Action
Belote came to the final table short on chips but she managed to stay in the game long enough to build her stack back up before she reached heads up play.
Belote’s final opponent was Bonnie Weitzel, another WSOP Circuit ring holder with $105,437 in previous live tournament wins.
The pair were the last two standing out of 115 entries to the $250 buy-in event. With $23,000 in the prize pool and $5,920 up top, there was plenty for both of them to play for.
Eventually, the chips went in with Belote holding Ax7x and Weitzel holding Kx8x. Things looked good for Weitzel briefly when a king came on the flop, but Belote caught a flush on the river to send Weitzel to the rail.
Weitzel took home $3,808 for second place.
