Joe Casey’s selections for Saturday’s matches include a low-scoring Merseyside derby and a win for Manchester City.
After a busy midweek of action, there are five matches in the English top flight on Saturday and Joe Casey has selected his four best bets on the day to put together a scintillating four-fold.
Saturday Premier League four-fold
Under 2.5 goals in Everton v Liverpool
6/5
Aston Villa to win and both teams to score v Southampton
8/5
Manchester City to beat Crystal Palace
3/5
Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals in Brentford v Newcastle
31/40

Everton v Liverpool
Everton and Liverpool’s two midweek games combined for ten goals but don’t expect a high-scoring affair when the two meet in the final league derby at Goodison Park.
The Reds may be disjointed following the quick turnaround from their frantic 3-3 draw away to Newcastle and expect Everton to sit deep and make things as hard as possible for the table toppers.
Six of the last seven head-to-heads have gone under 2.5 goals and this could be another cagey clash to say farewell to this historic ground.
Aston Villa v Southampton
Southampton’s naivety was on full display again in midweek as they gifted Chelsea a goal again in their 5-1 defeat.
The Saints have now made nine errors leading to a goal, some four clear of the next worst, and they could come undone once more against Aston Villa.
Both teams have scored in nine of the visitors’ last 12 games in all competitions and they can get on the scoresheet again at Villa Park, although their defensive issues look likely to cause them issues once again.
Side with the Villans to pick up another victory in which both teams find the net.
Crystal Palace v Manchester City
Manchester City finally picked up their first win in their last eight games after beating Nottingham Forest 3-0 in midweek.
The return of Kevin De Bruyne will be key to the Citizens getting anything out of this season after their dismal start by their usual high standards.
They should be able to make it back-to-back wins against a Crystal Palace side that picked up just their second league win of the campaign when beating Ipswich 1-0 on Tuesday.
Brentford v Newcastle
Brentford have been the best home team in the Premier League this season, winning six and drawing one of their seven games in their own backyard.
They face a Newcastle team that drew 3-3 with Liverpool but need to improve their fortunes against teams around them in the table.
Seven of the Bees’ nine home games in all competitions have gone over 2.5 goals and seen both teams find the net. Another entertaining affair looks likely when the Magpies visit.
