South Carolina is off to a fast start to the season and Shane Beamer‘s team is beginning to pick up steam on the recruiting trail as a result.
After landing a commitment from four-star WR Jordon Gidron on Friday, the Gamecocks doubled down on in-state receivers. Malik Clark, the No. 41-ranked WR in the Rivals250 out of Rock Hill (S.C.) High School, also declared in-state for South Carolina.
Clark is back on campus in Columbia on Saturday for the Ole Miss his second trip back to the flagship in-state university in as many months. The Gamecocks never took their foot off the gas with one of the state’s best in this 2025 cycle.
“Let’s bring this state back,” Clark told Rivals of his decision to commit to the Gamecocks.
Clark’s decision comes just days removed from the four-star pass-catcher’s decommitment from Florida State. The Seminoles edged out both South Carolina and North Carolina for Clark’s commitment over the summer after wowing his family during the June official visit.
The Gamecocks continued to press for the in-state blue-chipper, who checks in at 6-foot- 2 and 185 pounds with bonafide speed to burn (10.52-second 100M; 4.39-second 40 time). Clark also has a 34.1-inch vertical jump, a 10′ 2.5″ broad jump and a 4.31-second short shuttle.
Both Gidron and Clark are on campus Saturday along with newly minted 2025 four-star WR Donovan Murph, who also recently changed classifications and is giving the Gamecocks consideration along with Clemson, Ohio State, Alabama and others.
