Newcastle vs Manchester City (12:30)
Newcastle lost 3-1 at Fulham last weekend but the Magpies have an excellent home record and can earn at least a point when champions Manchester City visit Tyneside.
Eddie Howe’s men are unbeaten in ten matches at St James’ Park, winning six of them including both of their fixtures this season, and they’re up against a City side who lost Rodri to a potentially season-ending ACL injury in last week’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal.
Pep Guardiola’s men still have plenty of quality in their ranks but doubts also persist over Kevin De Bruyne’s fitness. Those key absences could open the door for the hosts.
Chelsea vs Brighton (15:00)
After an opening-weekend loss to Manchester City, Chelsea have claimed ten points from a possible 12, with wins coming over Wolves, Bournemouth and West Ham, and the Blues’ solid start can continue with a victory over Brighton.
Enzo Maresca is getting a tune out of his attacking options including Nicolas Jackson, who has scored four goals in his last four games, but the new boss will be desperate for his team to deliver a first Premier League home win of the season.
Brighton are unbeaten under Fabian Hurzeler. However, there was an element of fortune in the Seagulls’ 1-1 Emirates draw with Arsenal and subsequent home stalemates with Ipswich and Nottingham Forest are cause for concern.
Nottingham Forest vs Fulham (15:00)
Nottingham Forest are yet to taste defeat this season and the Tricky Trees look decent value to claim another three points when Fulham visit the City Ground.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have drawn both Premier League home matches 1-1 but they led the shot-on-target count on each occasion and should be confident of gaining a first home win after claiming four points from trips to Liverpool and Brighton.
Fulham have also made a bright start to the season but the Cottagers tend to do their best work on the banks of the Thames.
Wolves vs Liverpool (17:30)
Wolves are bottom of the Premier League with just one point from five matches and life is unlikely to get any easier for Gary O’Neil’s Wanderers when they welcome Liverpool to Molineux.
The Reds began well under Arne Slot, winning their first three Premier League fixtures without breaking a sweat, before suffering a shock 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest at Anfield.
However, they have been superb since that surprise defeat, beating Milan 3-1 at the San Siro in the Champions League and easing to back-to-back home victories – a 3-0 Premier League win over Bournemouth and a 5-1 EFL Cup triumph against West Ham.
