Competitive eating, also known as speed eating, is a surprising sport where participants race to consume vast quantities of food within a set time limit. Think hot dog havens on July 4th but dialed up to eleven! Contests typically last between 8-30 minutes, with the person devouring the most food crowned the champion.
While the act of eating quickly might seem basic, competitive eating is a surprisingly organized sport in North America, particularly in the United States and Canada. But where do people love this sport the most?
To reveal this, online betting Betway analyzed Google search data for relevant terms, the number of MLE native eaters and the number of food challenges available in all the states and Canada.
Also, this study coincides perfectly with National Hot Dog Month, a time to celebrate this iconic American food and the outrageous feats of competitive eating.

· The number of native MLE eaters
· The number of local food challenges
· The Google Trends Score for the ‘Man vs. Food’ and ‘Competitive Eating’ keywords from the past 12 months.
· A total average score for each state was then calculated — with each state ranked from top to bottom for a Top 10.
