There’s never a shortage of rumors in Las Vegas… and this is a good one. Perhaps you’ve already heard the rumblings that Tao Las Vegas will take over the abandoned Marco Polo Tower tower at the Venetian. And if not, now you have. Some Sin City insiders have noticed some strange happenings around the property lately. And the thought is that a new “boutique” style hotel will soon join the Strip.
The exact location we’re discussing is located on the Venetian property. The abandoned St. Regis hotel tower, to be precise. Construction of that proposed third tower stalled well over a decade ago and it’s just been sitting there. After the death of Sheldon Adelson, the Venetian changed ownership and is now managed by Apollo. That company has been working with Tao Group to build smaller hotel on the property, akin to the Nobu down at Caesars Palace. And bets are that the new, smaller hotel will be Tao Las Vegas.
