Hard Rock Casino is opening by the end of August next year, and it means a new chance for employment for 400 new people.
New job openings:
The new Hard Rock casino, which will be situated at 610. N. Bell School Road, Rockford, Illinois, will have 750 employees in total, and 350 people are already hired. The location of the casino is easily accessible and attractive, at the crossroads of East State Street and Interstate 90.
At the networking event that was held on Tuesday at Illinois Bank & Trust Pavilion located at the Aldeen Golf Course, the company announced various hiring events in summer and workforce readiness workshops which will start at the beginning of 2024.
Geno Iafrate, the president of the new casino, commented: “It’s a heavy lift. It’s never too early to start reaching out to the community and the community organizations that we think will be invaluable in helping us fill those positions with the right folks. These types of community connection events give us that opportunity to start those conversations early so that hopefully as we role into the summer we have more people than the 400, and we’re not scrambling to try to fill positions at the last minute.”
All job ads for management positions are expected to be posted in March, and supervisor positions will be available in April. Other jobs are expected to be announced in May, while June and July are reserved for hiring events.
Not all supervision positions will be new hires – some of them will be filled with people who already work in Hard Rock’s temporary casino.
A range of new positions:
Apart from a wide range of management positions, the new employees will be able to get a job in food and beverage services, as well as operations, transportation, retail, warehouse, and other departments necessary to establish a well-functioning system. When it comes to the salaries, the supervisors can get at least $50.000 per year, while managers can go up to $70.000 a year.
When it comes to casino operations, there will be jobs available in that department as well. The company needs all types of employees, from card dealers to cashiers, as well as security officers, drivers, someone to take care of audio and video equipment, sportsbook hosts, and many more. If the employees are no-tipped, they’ll get at least $18 per hour, while the ones who can get tips will get $10-16 per hour.
The chefs are needed as well, including the executive one, as well as the outlet and banquet chef. Additionally, there will be open positions for butchers, cooks, barenders, servers, hosts and hostesses, and other people that can help in providing the customers with an exceptional experience.
