The Henderson Planning Commission has approved an expansion plan for the Inspirada Station casino site, adding 14.1 acres to the project. The decision, reached in a unanimous 5-0 vote with two abstentions, allows Station Casinos to extend the gaming enterprise district at Via Inspirada and Bicentennial Parkway in the Seven Hills area. The additional land will primarily be used for surface parking. The matter will next go before the Henderson City Council on March 4.
Station Casinos representatives did not provide a timeline for when construction will begin on the resort, which has been planned since 2006. According to city documents analyzed by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the previously approved resort design includes a 58,000-square-foot gaming area, 6,670 square feet of banquet space, and an 8,400-square-foot sportsbook. Other planned amenities include 201 hotel rooms, three specialty restaurants with outdoor seating, an eight-box food hall, four bars, a 12-lane bowling alley, a six-screen movie theater, and a parking lot with 1,708 spaces.
During the public hearing, no opposition was raised against the rezoning plan, and the site remains within the required distance from residential areas, schools, and religious institutions.
Station Casinos’ Broader Expansion Strategy
While the Inspirada Station project moves forward with zoning approvals, Red Rock Resorts, the parent company of Station Casinos, has been directing significant investment toward other properties in its portfolio. The company recently revealed a $120 million expansion at Durango Casino & Resort in southwest Las Vegas, which began last month and is projected for completion in January 2026. The expansion will add 25,000 square feet of casino space, including a high-limit slot area and bar, and introduce 230 additional slot machines, with 120 designated for high-limit play. Additionally, a covered parking garage with nearly 2,000 spaces is being constructed to enhance accessibility and accommodate future growth.
During a recent earnings call, Red Rock Resorts executives also highlighted ongoing improvements across their properties. Green Valley Ranch is undergoing a $180 million renovation, including an extensive refresh of rooms, suites, and convention spaces, with most of the rooms expected to be available by late 2025. Meanwhile, Sunset Station is receiving a $53 million upgrade, featuring a redesigned central bar, a country and western nightclub, a new Mexican restaurant, and a full-scale casino renovation, according to KLAS 8 News Now.
The Future of Station Casinos’ Expansion
Though Inspirada Station is among the possible sites for Station Casinos’ next major project, executives have indicated that a decision on their next development could take up to a year. Other potential locations include Skye Canyon in northwest Las Vegas, a property at Cactus Avenue and I-15, the former Wild West casino site at Tropicana Avenue and I-15, a site at Losee Road and the Northern 215 Beltway, and a 58-acre property on Town Center Drive near the 215 Beltway.
Following a record-setting fourth quarter, Red Rock Resorts continues to see strong demand for its properties, particularly in suburban areas. The company reported net revenues of $495.7 million for the fourth quarter, marking a 7.1% increase compared to the same period in 2023. For the full year, net revenues totaled $1.94 billion, reflecting a 12.5% rise from the previous year. Executives have emphasized that growth in Las Vegas’s suburbs aligns well with the company’s expansion strategy, as more people relocate to areas near their casino properties.
