There are many reasons why you might choose to stay at hotel off the Vegas Strip. Perhaps you want to save some money? Perhaps you want something a little bit more laid back? Whatever your reasons, there are plenty of options. From room rates to Resort Fees and everything in between, we’re looking at seven of the best off Strip Vegas hotels with the help of our friends at Casino City.
We begin with number seven, the South Point Hotel, Casino, and Spa, which offers old school Vegas charm with a world class sports book and unique amenities, like a movie theater, bowling alley, and a lagoon style pool. Located 6 miles south of Mandalay Bay, South Point is on Las Vegas Boulevard but nowhere near the Strip! At number six on our list we come to Red Rock Resort and Spa. Just 12 miles from the Strip, you’ll find luxury in a more relaxed setting. Red Rock also has a bowling alley and a movie theater, and while family friendly with pools and cabanas, there’s also an adults only pool for guests over 21.
Now let me pause here for just a moment, as I’m sure you’ve noticed that we’re listing the average room rates with the resort fees for each property, and those were current at the time that we filmed this. However ,those rates can vary wildly, depending on when you book your stay and even what time of year you plan to be in Las Vegas. That said, we come to number five on our list, The Plaza Hotel and Casino on Fremont Street! Yes, it’s not on the Strip, but it does come with plenty of Vegas excitement! It offers a smoke free game floor, a retro style pool, and a variety of food choices from donut shops all the way to the renown Oscar’s Steakhouse!
Next, we come to Tuscany Suites and Casino located on East Flamingo! This is a more affordable location, while also being one of the most conveniently located! Close to the airport, conventions, and off the Strip, with in-house dining and spacious rooms that come standard with a fridge and coffee maker! So you don’t have to stay at some big name resort just to have a great Las Vegas experience! And while getting away from the Strip might save you some cash and some headache, remember that it also might cost you more |in ride share services and taxi expenses.
Also, just because you get away from the Strip doesn’t necessarily mean the rooms will be cheaper. With that said, we come to the third spot on our list, The Durango Resort! Just over 10 miles away from Las Vegas Boulevard, this new Station Casino property is different from the more traditional dark casinos. It comes with floor to ceiling windows, lots of light, and a bright decor! There’s also a pool Food Hall and free parking , plus the STN Sports Book which has quickly become a Vegas favorite, and was a great place to watch the Super Bowl this past weekend.
And that brings us to our top two off Strip Vegas hotels off the strip, which means we have to head back down to Fremont Street, where we arrive at Circa Las Vegas! This adults only property was the first newly constructed resort in downtown in over 40 years! It features a two-story casino, a three-story sports book, and the longest indoor bar in the state! Plus the amazing rooftop Stadium Swim pool, with a 40 foot, high definition, LED screen for watching your favorite events, and offering amazing views of the Strip and the mountains!
And at the top of our list, The Palms Casino Resort! Located just over a mile from Las Vegas Boulevard, and owned by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, this resort boasts exceptional customer service, and has one of the best steakhouses in Las Vegas: Scotch 80 Prime! Plus, players will love the 3-2 blackjack tables, while party goers will love the famous Ghost Bar on the 55th floor! It’s close to the Strip, Fremont Street, Allegiant Stadium, and the airport!
