Toffees can take advantage of stuttering Seagulls
Everton ended a six-game winless run last weekend in the Premier League with a much-needed 3-2 success over Tottenham, which moved them four points clear of the relegation zone.
Arguably more important than the win was the three goals the Toffees scored, especially when you consider they hadn’t found the net in the previous three league games.
A quick glance at the stats shows that Brighton are unbeaten in their last six Premier League encounters, but their home form will be a concern for Fabian Hurzeler.
The Seagulls have won just two of their last nine home league fixtures, with that run including games against the likes of Southampton, Ipswich and Wolves.
It’s also worth noting that Everton are unbeaten in their last four trips to the Amex, with two wins and two draws – including a 1-1 draw in this fixture last season.
Isak to get Newcastle back on track
After scoring in eight straight games, Alexander Isak’s impressive run came to an end last weekend as Newcastle crashed to a 4-1 home defeat against Bournemouth.
The Swedish international will see a trip to bottom club Southampton as the perfect opportunity to get back amongst the goals.
Saints have conceded 50 goals in 22 games, including five in three of their last four league games at St Mary’s.
Isak has 15 goals to his name this term and is ranked fifth in the shots-on-target stats, with 28 so far this season and an xG of 10.74, so punters can take advantage of a Betway Boost.
Odegaard needs to deliver at Molineux
Draws in two of their last three league games has left Arsenal six points behind Liverpool, who also have a game in hand on the Gunners.
Saturday afternoon’s trip to Wolves is looking like a must-win for Mikel Arteta’s men, especially when you consider the current problems at Molineux.
Wanderers have lost their last three league games, conceding nine goals and scoring just one in the process.
Arsenal have not been firing on all cylinders in attack, with Bukayo Saka a key absentee, so they will need their skipper to step up.
Martin Odegaard has scored just one goal in the league this term and has a good record at Wolves, scoring three goals in the Gunners’ last two visits to Molineux.
Goals on the menu at the Etihad
The game of the weekend in the Premier League takes place on Saturday evening, as Manchester City play host to Chelsea.
It’s fair to expect goals between the two teams that are currently fourth and fifth in the table and are joint-third in the goals-scored tally this season.
Both have fired 44 goals in 22 games and with the likes of Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson on the pitch, goals look likely.
With both teams struggling defensively, both Pep Guardiola and Enzo Maresca would be forgiven for saying ‘we’ll try and score more goals than you’.
