In a move set to affect thousands of visitors, MGM Resorts International has announced significant increases to both resort and parking fees at its Las Vegas properties, effective from 10 a.m. on December 4. This change marks a shift in the cost structure for numerous high-profile resorts along the famous Las Vegas Strip.
Details of the fee increases:
MGM Resorts International, a major player on the Las Vegas Strip, detailed the upcoming adjustments to its fee schedules. Guests staying at the luxurious Bellagio, Aria, Vdara, and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will now face a daily resort fee of $55, reflecting a $5 increase. Similarly, properties such as MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Delano, Park MGM, Nomad, and The Signature will see their fees rise to $50 per day—an increase ranging from $5 to $8. More budget-friendly options like New York-New York, Luxor, and Excalibur will also experience hikes, with their resort fees climbing to $45.
These resort fees cover a variety of amenities and services, including unlimited local and domestic long-distance calls, in-room Wi-Fi, digital newspaper and magazine access through PressReader, fitness center access, Paramount+ with Showtime On Demand, and boarding pass printing.
MGM Resorts cites the alignment with both local and national market standards as the primary reason for the fee adjustments. The company states that these fees are periodically reviewed and adjusted to stay competitive with other resorts in Las Vegas and across the country, ensuring that guests continue to receive value through bundled amenities and services.
Changes to parking fees:
As Las Vegas Review-Journal reports, the fee adjustments extend beyond just the resort fees. Parking fees are also set to increase, with self-park visitors now paying $20 from Monday to Thursday, up from $18, and $25 on weekends, up from $23. Hotel guests will be charged a flat rate of $20 for self-parking across all days, marking a $2 increase. Valet parking rates for all guests will be standardized at $40 at all MGM properties, where they previously varied between $25 and $40 based on the property and the day.
Despite these increases, certain visitor segments will continue to enjoy complimentary parking privileges. MGM Rewards members at the pearl tier or higher will retain free self-parking, and those at the gold tier or above will still benefit from free valet parking. Additionally, all active U.S. military personnel, veterans, and their spouses can park for free through the MGM Rewards Military & Veterans Program (MVP). Local residents with a valid Nevada ID can also park for free for up to three hours at all MGM Resorts properties.
As these fee increases come into effect, they are likely to influence both the travel decisions of potential visitors and the competitive landscape of resort offerings in Las Vegas. While some may view the hikes as a necessary adjustment to maintain high-quality services, others could see them as a deterrent amid a plethora of entertainment options in the city.
