Double-digit offers and a swell of 2026 quarterback recruits led to a preseason decision for Jackson Presley.
The Kalispell (Mont.) Glacier standout, who threw for more than 3,000 yards and totaled 32 touchdowns as a sophomore in 2023, went public with a pledge to the Boise State Broncos on Monday afternoon.
“I took the trip down to Boise and really fell in love,” Presley told Rivals. “The school, campus, everything going on there. They sling the ball and they’re a very QB-friendly offense. A lot of great quarterbacks came from Boise.
“I had great connections with the coaches there, too. Coach Coop (Steve Cooper)…coach (Spencer) Danielson, the head coach, fell in love with his development process and just how he cares for each and every player. He’s also a big man of faith, which is really important to me.”
While some programs had been in on the newest Bronco longer, the connections between the program and its future quarterback were built in a hurry this offseason.
“I got offered by Boise in the spring time,” Presley said. “Coach Matt Miller, the receivers coach and passing game coordinator, came to watch me throw at my school. We built a great connection and he actually played high school ball out here in Montana, playing with and against all my coaches.”
After the unofficial visit to campus, there were considerable similarities to the outdoors nature the rising-junior recruit has grown fond of off the field. On the field and in the locker room, there was just as much to like.
“At Boise, I’m able to showcase all of my talents,” he said. “They run a very similar offense to what my high school runs. A lot of spread, so I’m able to showcase everything I can do. They have amazing facilities, a great staff, great nutrition and everything a top college has to offer. Plus that iconic blue field.
“It came down to Oklahoma State and Boise. The deciding factor was the Boise State coaches and the love coach Danielson preaches to me and all of his players. They genuinely care about their players, will take care of them, and want to put them in the best position to win.”
Now an upperclassman headed to a winning college program, the spotlight around Presley is sure to grow over the next two years before he gets to Boise for good. Thereafter, he isn’t expecting to take his time in climbing the depth chart.
“I’m a competitor, I want to win and be around a great group of guys,” he said. “That’s why I chose Boise. I’m blessed to be guided by God through this process of becoming a Bronco.
“After 2026, when my senior year is up, it’s time to get down to Boise and start competing.”
