Oleksandr Usyk’s coach says Tyson Fury is struggling to cope with defeat for the first time and says Usyk is running out of challenges at heavyweight.
What did you make of Tyson Fury’s recent interview?
Fury had the look of a very deluded man unable to cope with defeat. Everything that he said is a complete illusion of him and his team, the illusion of imaginary success. He called Usyk an ‘amateur boxer’, yet Usyk was superior to him in every department.
He said it was an ‘easy fight’, but in round nine Usyk bounced him around the ring like a pinball. He called Usyk a rabbit, but the 200 kilogram giant ran from the rabbit for 12 rounds, and if the referee had not saved him in round nine, it would have been a brutal knockout.
You have to be able to lose too, but it looks like he can’t accept defeat. Is he really trying to say he won this fight? Fury will have his opportunity again in December, but this time it will not go the distance. Usyk has studied, scanned and seen all of his trump cards. Fury has nothing else to play, this will be the last fight of his career. Usyk will retire Tyson Fury.
In the meantime, Usyk will be starring in a movie with The Rock, he plays our Ukrainian legend Igor Vovchanchin from MMA, who he has a lot in common with. Igor, like Usyk, was able to beat fighters much bigger than him. Usyk was perfect for the role because they’re both giant killers.
Will Usyk move to Cruiserweight?
Usyk is running out of challenges at heavyweight. He accepted the challenge at heavyweight and became the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. A lot of work went into this achievement.
After the rematch we will see who will remain in the heavyweight division, but Usyk has now passed this level, everyone who stood in Usyk’s way has been overcome. We are now set for a rematch with Fury, after that we will know who will be next.
What will be next for Oleksandr after the Fury fight?
He’s proven he’s the best of this generation. Once he’s retired Tyson Fury, he will consider his options. Maybe that’s dropping down in weight again, or maybe there’s a wildcard option on the table for him; be it in the boxing ring, the MMA cage or even Conor McGregor’s Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.
Can you imagine Usyk and Jon Jones fighting to prove they’re the baddest man on the planet? Or maybe it’s a third fight with Anthony Joshua in the MMA cage. Maybe it’s Jake Paul at cruiserweight, although Usyk would need to fight him with one hand behind his back to make it fair.
