It is easy to forget that online poker exists when the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is in full swing because it seems almost every poker player on the planet descends on Las Vegas, sharing the common goal of returning home with a gold WSOP bracelet. The action is still happening thick and fast online at WPT Global, even if most of the star-studded team of ambassadors have swapped clicking buttons for riffling chips.
Phil Ivey, Brad Owen, Ethan Yau, and Xuan Liu have been in the thick of it at the 2024 WSOP, with Yau and Liu somehow finding time away from the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas to mix things up in other events!
Fifty-one champions have been crowned so far at the WSOP, but how has the WPT Global ambassador team been getting on?
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey has been the stand-out performer of the WPT Global stable, which, let’s be honest, was to be expected. A living legend of the game, few players can match Ivey’s ability in any poker variant or format.
Through events completed up to the start of June 25, Ivey has recorded nine in-the-money finishes, including an outright victory in the $10,000 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball, which netted Ivey his 11th WSOP bracelet. Ivey’s bracelet win came with $347,440 in prize money, a sum he beat with an 11th-place finish in the $250,000 No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller that earned Ivey $506,757.

Brad Owen
Brad Owen has managed one live and one online score so far at the 2024 WSOP, but the deck is not being kind to the popular streamer. Owen cashed in the $1,000 Mystery Millions event at the start of the 2024 WSOP and followed that up with a sixth-place finish in a $400 No-Limit Hold’em PKO online event, but enduring a frustrating time at the tables.
In the $1,500 Monster Stack, Owen lost a massive pot with pocket kings versus ace-king for 93 big blinds effective, and busted a second bullet in the $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em event after flopping a set of kings, only for his opponent’s ace-ten to hit a runner-runner full house.

Ethan Yau
Ethan Yau, better known as “Rampage,” is being his usual prolific self, grinding bracelet-awarding tournaments, events at other casinos, cash games, and even sports betting! Nine WSOP cashes for Yau include two five-figure prizes. He banked $15,430 for a 47th-place finish in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em 8-Handed event and collected $53,483 after busting 27th in the $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller.
Yau has even found the time for a brace of seventh-place finishes outside the WSOP. Yau finished seventh in a $1,100 No-Limit Hold’em event at Aria for $10,765, and scooped a cool $104,424 for a seventh-place finish in the $3,500 No-Limit Hold’em BetMGM Poker Championship, also at Aria.

Xuan Liu
Xuan Liu extended her contract with WPT Global on the same day Patrick Tardif joined as a brand ambassador. While Tardif is yet to appear at the 2024 WSOP, Liu has racked up five cashes.
The largest of those prizes weighs in at $6,979, Liu’s reward for a 246th place finish in the $1,500 Monster Stack No-Limit Hold’em. Liu continues knocking on the door of a 2024 WSOP final table and a massive prize.
Away from the WSOP, Liu cashed in two tournaments on the Wynn Summer Classic schedule. The first was an 82nd-place finish in a $1,100 No-Limit Hold’em event worth $3,714, and the second came in a $1,600 No-Limit Hold’em tournament that netted Liu $3,779.
