Las Vegas casino-resort Silverton Casino Lodge opened its Circa-branded sportsbook on Monday. The launch marks the Circa brand’s fifth satellite location in southern Nevada, and the first in the southwest region.
Bettor David McCovy placed the first bet on women’s college basketball just after a ribbon-cutting ceremony, betting $15,000 on Oklahoma to beat Iowa State. With Oklahoma favored, he would have won $10,000, but Iowa State won, 85-68.
Derek Stevens, CEO of Circa Sports, said: “We’re excited to introduce Circa Sports to a new part of Las Vegas. We’ve been longtime fans of Silverton and have loved what Rob Kunkle and his team have done with the property over the past few years. This sportsbook marks a new chapter for both of our brands and is the perfect way to kick off the March Hoops season in the city.”
For his part, Rob Kunkle, President of the Silverton Casino Lodge, commented: “We chose Circa Sports as our sportsbook operator as we knew Derek and his team would deliver a first-class experience to Silverton – and that’s exactly what we got. We’re thrilled to have them join the Silverton family.”
Designed by Tré Builders, the 1,600-square-foot sportsbook is located right next to Silverton’s parking garage for ease of access and arrives right on time for March Madness.
The sportsbook features a Daktronics screen that can be configured to show games from all major sports leagues and other streaming services, three betting windows, three self-serving betting kiosks, odds boards, betting sheet racks, 12 lounge chairs, six four-person tables, four six-person booths, and 24 bar top games.
Looking forward, the Silverton is also getting ready to open a new $10 million pool for guests to go along with a $40 million hotel remodel. The property is a locals casino at Blue Diamond Road and I-15, known mostly for its partnership with Bass Pro Shops and a free mermaid show in a 117,000-gallon aquarium.
