The EAPT only crowned its latest champion on January 28 but the next nine-day festival is right around the corner, with EAPT Madrid taking place at the Casino Grand Via from February 12-19. Among the dozen or so events and satellites is the €560 buy-in, €180,000 guaranteed (plus €20,000 in EAPT packages) EAPT Madrid Main Event, which PokerNews‘ live reporting team is covering in all of its glory.
EAPT visits Madrid for the first time in its history, although it has previously stopped off in Spain. EAPT Barcelona took place on October 2023, and its €560 buy-in Main Event drew in 357 entrants, who fought tooth and nail to capture a slice of the €200,000 prize pool. The 2023 EAPT Barcelona Main Event ended in a four-way chip, with Fernando Torrents crowned the champion.
Torrents banked €26,625 for his victory. Ariel Faskowicz (€24,675) finished as the runner-up, Carlos Inareta (€27,400) was the third-place finisher, and Jose Elvir (€19,275) busted in fourth.

Last Time Out On the EAPT
On January 28, Hungary’s Miklos Zsuffa came out on top in the €560 EAPT Bratislava Main Event at the Banco Casino. Zsuffa defeated Greek grinder Christoforos Chrysochoidis heads-up and laid claim to a €32,630 cash prize plus a €5,000 EAPT package. It is possible Zsuffa could use his package for the EAPT Madrid festival; cold he become the tour’s first back-to-back champion?
