At the beginning of the new year, the company Affiliated Marketing Group (AMG), organizer of the international fair Peru Gaming Show (PGS), analyzed the current situation in the region, highlighted the milestones of the 2023 edition of the event, and confirmed that the next edition will take place on June 12 and 13.
The firm pointed out that 2023 was characterized, above all, by the eagerness to formalize and regulate the verticals that exist in the gaming industry. In this line, they pointed out, that sports betting and online games took a special interest in Peru, where there was already a law and the congress approved the regulation, following the steps of Colombia, where the regulation for land-based games, sports betting, and online games exist.
In Argentina, which is regulated by states or provinces, regulation continued to advance, they pointed out, recalling that in December 2023 in the province of Santa Fe, the bill for online gambling and sports betting was approved.
In the same month, Brazil passed a law regulating the sports betting and online gaming market. Likewise, in Chile, the bill to regulate the online sector was approved.
“In Uruguay and Paraguay the debates are in the corresponding bodies and everything suggests that they will have a favorable end towards the regulation”, the company added.
“In short, throughout Latin America, governments are very concerned about formalizing and regulating the gaming sector to guarantee legality, transparency, and responsible gaming,” the company emphasized in a statement and said that, at the PGS 2024 conferences, these issues will be addressed as a priority.
In this context, AMG highlighted the outcome of PGS 2023, which took place on June 14 and 15. More than 70 brands participated in this event, including exhibitors with booths and sponsorships, and the number of visitors from all over the world far exceeded the attendance of past editions. “No one wanted to miss PGS 2023 and be part of the excellence with nourished offers of state-of-the-art products and services”, the business noted.
For 2024, PGS is scheduled for June 12-13. The fairgrounds will open its doors to provide “the best environment for business networking, keynote speeches, and entertainment.” In addition, Peru ‘offers tourism, culture and the best gastronomy in the world’, the company added.
In a recent exclusive interview with Yogonet, Rubén Solórzano, General Manager of Affiliated Marketing Group, stated that the next edition of PGS will include the publication of the regulations that will govern the online sector in Peru and that “it is preparing to attract the brands of the gaming world aligned to this current panorama and to become the gaming reference in the region.”
