MGM Resorts International has confirmed the appointment of Louie Theros as the new President and Chief Operating Officer of MGM Springfield, succeeding the departing Chris Kelley. Theros, who boasts nine years of experience within MGM Resorts, brings knowledge in legal and regulatory affairs to his new role.
Steve Zanella, President of MGM Resorts Operations, expressed enthusiasm about Theros’s leadership, stating: “We’re thrilled to have Louie leading the charge at MGM Springfield. Louie brings more than 30 years of leadership, legal, and regulatory experience to the property and has a strong vision to continue to drive growth throughout both the city of Springfield and the larger region.”
Theros’s tenure within MGM Resorts includes serving as Vice President, Legal Counsel, and Assistant Secretary at MGM Grand Detroit, Michigan, for the past nine years. His previous experience encompasses a two-decade-long career as a private practice lawyer and a vice president at the Detroit law firm Butzel Long. Theros holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Vanderbilt University Law School.
