Most of Malibu emptied into Las Vegas on Wednesday, where a private party was held to celebrate the grand opening of the Strip’s newest casino resort, the Fontainebleau, as well as the 55th birthday of its founder, Jeffrey Soffer.
The guest list included Kim Kardashian and her sister Kendall Jenner, Cher, Tom Brady, Sylvester Stallone and his wife Jennifer Flavin, Eva Longoria, and Justin Timberlake and wife Jessica Biel.
The Fontainebleau Hotel, a longtime Miami landmark, just expanded to Sin City with a brand new $3.7 billion luxury resort/casino that took only 16 years to build.
Timberlake headlined the opening of David Grutman’s LIV Nightclub, earning a reported $6M for his hourlong set.
It was only Timberlake’s second live performance of 2023, neither of which was public. In November, he played Baron Capital’s annual investment conference in New York City.
Also performing at LIV were resident Vegas headliners Keith Urban and Paula Anka, who provided the night’s sole validation from old-school Las Vegas.
The guest list also included Tommy Hilfiger, Alice Cooper, “Breaking Bad” stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, Dita Von Teese, Lenny Kravitz, and Ivanka Trump, who wore a $3,500 Monique Lhuillier gown.
At 12:05 a.m., when the public was allowed to enter, the VIP party moved to the high-limit room, where Timberlake christened a craps table by shooting a pair of blue dice.
Stars of the hospitality world were on hand as well. They included Tao Group co-CEO Noah Tepperberg, who recently opened Miami’s Casadonna with Grutman, and celebrity chefs Michael White and Evan Funke, who sent out truffle-topped pizza to the guests all night from his Mother Wolf Italian restaurant.
