The Monumental “Simon Bolivar” stadium in Caracas, the new flagship venue of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) and home of the Leones del Caracas, opened this week a new gambling hall within its facilities.
The “Simón Bolívar”, officially inaugurated at the 2023 Caribbean Series earlier this year, is “one of the most important architectural works in all of baseball in Latin America”, according to local media Noticias Barquisimeto. Now this modern venue also has the Monumental VIP Casino.
The new space, open Monday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 a.m., is located in one of the stadium’s box areas. It also has a restobar and a nightclub with a view of the playing field, so that bettors have a clear view of what is happening on the field.
It should be added that, in 2021, President Nicolás Maduro authorized the opening of casinos throughout Venezuela, reversing the decision of former President Hugo Chávez, who had banned these types of entertainment venues in 2011.
